Las preguntas de comportamiento son esas que empiezan con "Tell me about a time when..." o "Give me an example of...".

  • "Tell me about a time when you had to work under pressure."
  • "Describe a situation where you had a conflict with a colleague."
  • "Give me an example of when you showed leadership."
  • "Tell me about a time when you failed. What did you learn?"
  • "Describe a situation where you had to adapt quickly to a change."
  • "Tell me about a time you went above and beyond for a client."
  • "Give me an example of a project you managed from start to finish."

  • "Two years ago, I was working as a project coordinator at a mid-sized logistics company..."
  • "During my second year at university, our team was tasked with..."
  • "When I was leading the customer service department..."

Task (10-15%)

  • "My responsibility was to deliver the new onboarding process within six weeks."
  • "I was asked to mediate the situation and find a solution that worked for both sides."
  • "As the team lead, it fell on me to restructure our workflow without disrupting ongoing projects."

Action (60-70%)

  • "First, I scheduled individual meetings with each team member to understand their concerns."
  • "I then analysed the data and identified three main bottlenecks in the process."
  • "I proposed a new system and trained the team over two weeks."
  • "I escalated the issue to senior management while simultaneously developing a contingency plan."

Verbos útiles para la sección Action:

Result (15-20%)

Cuantifica siempre que puedas. Si no tienes número exacto, usa una aproximación:

  • "As a result, we delivered the project two weeks ahead of schedule."
  • "The team's productivity increased by around 30% over the following quarter."
  • "The client renewed their contract for another year and specifically mentioned our support."
  • "The conflict was resolved and both team members continued working together without further issues."

  • "Although we didn't hit the target, I learned the importance of setting more realistic milestones from the start."

Ejemplo completo: liderazgo bajo presión

Pregunta: "Tell me about a time when you had to lead a team through a difficult situation."

Respuesta STAR:

"In my previous role as marketing manager, we lost a key client account unexpectedly, which left us significantly below budget for the quarter (Situation). My task was to identify new revenue opportunities within 60 days to minimise the financial impact (Task).

I started by calling a team meeting to be transparent about the situation and get everyone aligned. I then divided the team into two groups: one focused on upselling to existing clients, and the other on accelerating three pending proposals. I personally took on the most complex proposal and worked with the sales team to tailor it more precisely to the client's pain points. I also implemented a weekly progress check-in to keep momentum up (Action).

By the end of the 60 days, we had closed two of the three proposals and increased our average contract value with two existing clients. We recovered about 70% of the lost revenue, and the experience actually helped us build stronger client relationships overall (Result)."

Di "I did", no "we did".

"I worked hard and communicated better" no dice nada. "I implemented daily stand-ups and created a shared progress tracker" sí.
